1954 Jaguar XK120 Roadster project. Last update May 2012 Factory data and history:
Production date: February 1954 Original paint colour: Battleship Grey Original interior colour: Red Dispatched to Hornburg, USA from Hull docks when new. Garaged last 30-40 years in California. Imported to Sweden in 2010. VIN no: Upon request Body no: F 7353 Engine no: F 2551-8 Gearbox no: JL21084  Whats done to this XK120: Stripped down, body off. Body, frame and all parts cleaned, sanded and blasted to bare metal. Frame and chassie parts painted. New door shut pillars and sills, fixed door hinges. New lower dash side structures. Metal and lead-work on front end finished. Boot lid woodframe restored. Aluminium doors restored and reinforced at lower hinges. Body put together, doors and spats adjusted. Metal and lead-work on rearend finished. New wood in seats and dashboard. All chrome parts rechromed or new. Engine block, new bore +.020 and topdecked, new pistons, new chains. Crankshaft grinded .010, all bearings new +.010. Cleaned with new oil plugs. Cylinder head resurfaced, new valve guides, grinded seats and valves, new camshaft bearings. Polished engine aluminum parts. New engine and gearbox mountings. New rubber bushings and ball joints in front suspension. New adjustable front shock absorbers. New brakes, pipes, hoses, linings etc. New twin stainless exhaust system New radiator core. New front and rear bumpers. New clutch. Carburettors restored. Water pump rebuilt. New square petrol pump. Paintjob completed, from bare metal. Body back on frame. New wiring harness installed. New body rubber and grommets all over. Speedometer, temp/oil gauge and ampmeter rebuilt. New knobs, chrome and leather on dashboard. New tripod headlamps, rear lamps, sidelamps. New wiper arms and wipers. Manette rebuilt with N.O.S. parts. New floorboards in cockpit and trunk. New locks and keys, ignition, petrol flap, trunk. New windows all around. Five new Michelin X radial tyres. New leather seats. New door leather and new door pockets. New crash roll rubber and leather. New carpet set, cockpit and trunk. Side curtains restored with new chrome and trim. New side curtain bags. New black soft top, new small type rear window. New black tonneau cover. Waiting for registration, testdriving and evaluation.
